OK Gold Conference Tournament The Wayland Varsity Tennis Team took 4th place overall in the OK Gold Conference Tournament on Thursday! This was a 3 match day for most of the players, beginning at 830am and finishing at 3pm, the boys needed to play quality tennis against a field of tough competitors. Congratulations to Brayden Tomson, taking 2nd place in the 3rd Singles flight, beating the #2 seed West Catholic, then the #3 seed TK, then falling to the #1 Seed and eventual tournament champion South Christian. Excellent day! Congratulations also go to the 3rd Doubles team of Asher Hendricks and Brycen Rookus taking 2nd place in their flight, defeating the #2 seed West Catholic in a dramatic 3 set match, then falling to the #1 seed GR South Christian. Well done, boys!! Overall - the tournament results were: First Place - GR South Christian; Second Place - TK; Third Place - GR West Catholic; Fourth Place - Wayland; Fifth Place - GR Northview; Sixth Place - Wyoming; Seventh Place - GR Union. The Tennis Team’s next tournament is the Division 3 Regional Tournament on Wednesday, October 8th in Holland. Let’s go!!!
